I closed it, because there is a (simple) option to disallow the use of TLS, which fixes the problem as I mentioned in comment 2 Furthermore, this is a gnutls problem, I suppose, not a mercurial one..? I'll leave it open and let 'Ubuntu Developers' (they are the maintainers of this package) decide
