definitely a custom one. Maybe you have run some installer script which
adds this line automatically.

The issue does not happen with other user accounts, so it seems this is
not really a bug.
For the sake of completeness, I attach my .bashrc file, though I don't
recall editing it.

Does not look like a bug in xfce4-terminal. Did you edit your user-
specific bash configuration file (~/.bashrc)? Furthermore, can you
reproduce this issue with another user account?
