As KQEMU is GPLed now, there should be no problem to get it into linux-
ubuntu-modules-*-generic or something in my opinion.

Yes, please! If our community wants to spread Free, Open Source
software (and we do, right?), this should be as easy to install (or more
so!) than VMWare Player.
A GUI would be great too but I don't know of any...
