He's right; "halt -i" has no effect.
"man halt" says "On Linux, this is unnecessary as the kernel will do this
anyway."
And that's probably my problem: kernel will do this anyway; If I want to or
not..

The halt binary Ubuntu uses comes from the upstart source, and is in
compat/sysv
