I think this is a bug not a wishlist, mythtv will fail if the video
devices swap... if you then plug in a usb webcam life gets even more
interesting

Based on what I've seen on the forums, it appears that events#
assignments can also have this characteristic. I've created udev rules
specific to my V4L devices to give me a consistent mounting point.
These rules create specific mounting points in addition to the video#
ones.
