I've suffered this same bug under Hardy, using Brasero 0.8.1. I don't
have the log file produced, but was mostly identical to the one in the
first comment of this bug report (except that my file names were
different, of course ;))).

I tried brasero 0.6.0 from Ubuntu 7.10 Tribe 2
It works fine.
Now is time to wait for release, because backport of brasero 0.6.0 from
getdeb.net for Fiesty crashed when I try to start burn...
