This seems very complete, so I am confirming this bug and assigning the
Ubuntu-Kernel-Team to it.
Thank you for all the work you made for making this bug report as complete as
possible!
** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu)
Assignee: Paul Dufresne => Ubuntu Kernel Team
Status:
All those logs are from 2.6.20
With 2.6.22, I can't get past login with rtl 8187 native driver and
networkmanager enabled. I have no problems with ndiswrapper driver and
netmanager disabled. I'll try to find out what's up with it.

I was interrupted when writing the last post, so here's some more.

I have no problem with you using feisty kernel on Gutsy with GNOME.
As long as I know what you are doing. :-)
Don't ignore my lsusb.log request and my suggestion of iwconfig output.

I said I dist upgraded, but I did not delete the old kernel. As I said,
I'll test both. I'll test gutsy kernel tomorrow. I may be wrong but I
don't think gnome version is the main thing here, so it should be ok to
test feisty kernel on gutsy gnome. Or am I wrong? I dont remember if

You said you upgraded to Gutsy, but you are still having a 2.6.20 kernel.
On Gutsy it should be 2.6.22.
I may be missing something, as I am not too used to kernel bugs.
Is it a 32 or 64 bits?
Do you know the make and model of your motherboard?

Reassigning to linux-source-2.6.20, was Ubuntu, because affected Feisty.
Only for dmesg.log you need for the connection to drop. Others are
general info.

The kernel I was using when noticed the bug was latest feisty kernel. I
just dist-upgraded to Gutsy this night. I'll try to test both kernels
(latest feisty and latest gutsy).
These logs that you're asking for, I take I must wait for the connection
dropping problem to occur before saving the logs
