Hello Simon, or anyone else affected,
Accepted xl2tpd into saucy-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xl2tpd/1.3.1+dfsg-
1ubuntu0.13.10.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
Please help us by testing this new package. See
I checked this with jdstrand and sdeziel kindly updated the changelog
entries for more clarity for the SRU team. Uploaded both Precise and
Saucy, and now awaiting SRU team approval. Thanks Simon!

@Luke, those fixes are from the just released xl2tpd 1.3.2 version. This
version didn't make it to Debian yet but will eventually percolate to
Ubuntu Trusty.
