This is not an issue any more! I have Gutsy now and the printer works
fine. The only thing which is wrong now is that even though I have
selected A4 for example Eye Of Gnome wants to print Letter instead.
Should I file another bug for that?

Yes, I eventually figured out that my case is bug 86426, although I
still think that bug 124860 is related, although maybe not this
particular bug.
I didn't do a deep enough search before commenting or I would have
finally found bug 86426. Thanks.
