well, Nautilus doesn't show the thumbnail icos its window display. The error
comes when I click on the dummy thumbnail. I would think that Nautilus should
point to a viewer. It did in Edgy, or Feisty, not in Gutsy or Hardy.

the bug is about ressource use to display wmf, that's not a nautilus
issue, having other applications opening this format is not a nautilus
issue either and a different bug, you should open a bug against the
application that should open those, closing this one since nautilus
works correctly

When I click on a WMF file I get an error msg: "There is no application
installed for this file type"; I don't see any change in memory usage
because the wmf file was not loaded.
GIMP will load and view wmf files but I don't see anything unusual
regarding memory usage.
How does one view wmf files
that's a different issue than the one described there

No, nothing has changed... no WMF support in Hardy... just make sure I
have all the latest updates to 8.04. Neither gThumb nor Nautilus can
find a viewer for this type of graphic file. Please keep trying to fix
this area. Thanks!

Thanks for responding, Brian... I use WMFs all the time and it is a pain
to not have anything in Feisty or Gutsy be able to read them. See the
sample wmf attached to use as reference. It's a simple, non-complex design.
Please fix this bug. I know there is a plug-in somewhere for Nautilus

I tried recreating this using Feisty and I did not see a preview image
for the WMF file contained in this bug report.

Well, neither Nautilus nor gThumb render WMF files in Gutsy. They did in
Feisty and still do. There must be a plug-in somewhere that is left out
of Gutsy that is in Feisty. Please fix. And thanks for a great OS.

Nothing is running there doing the thumbnail and there is no image for
your example on my gutsy installation, you have probably installed
something doing the previous which is not part of the standard
installation

I tried to find out what is used to generate the images but couldn't
find it.
I used the gnome-system-monitor but could see anything in it.
I tried running the command
$ ps -AF | grep -i wmf -
while it was loading the directory, but it returned nothing usefull
I also tried the command
$ ps -AF
Could you look in gnome-system-monitor what is running to generate the
image?

Yes it happens every time, it doesn't seem to matter what file you use.
I have attached a file, I did a test with.
1) copy to an empty directory,
2) duplicate a few dosen times (I did 30)
3) Open the 'stystem monitor' to the resources tab
4) Using nautilus open the directory, you should see a e
Thank you for your bug. Does it happen every time, could you attach the
