Workaround by compiling your own .deb:
1. apt-get install cdbs devscripts liblame-dev libtwolame-dev fakeroot
build-essential autotools-dev dh-make
2. apt-get source darkice (it'll create a source directory under your
current location called (eg) darkice-0.18.1
3. Change to that subdirectory

Given there's no MP3 support, why does apt-get install libtwolame0?
Isn't that to do with mp3s?
I'd like to request that this package be moved to multiverse so mp3
support can be included. Otherwise, there isn't much point to it.
