Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Skype is still not an option in online accounts of ubuntu and that is very sad.
There should be a package account-plugin-skype or something.

Yes this way it works, however if i use the empathy gui an click on the
accounts thingie the ubuntu online account overview opens and there is
no skype option. So using the gui, there is no way to add a skype
account. This is a ubuntu specific bug.
