The thing we need is a plug-in/template for adding an account with an URL specified by the user (carddav &/or caldav). If we take a look at https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu- branches/ubuntu/vivid/sync- monitor/vivid/view/head:/templates/google.conf we can see it can (and should) be integrated
