Well I'm running gnome but my akregator version is 1.3.1 (KDE 4.1.2). My
gnome desktop is running a KDE demon so I think I can say I'm running

One workaround is to click "Complete Story" in the message box. But I
still think it's a bug.

I will reopen this bug. Don't understand why this is not fixed. Another
explanation:
When I double-click on an article in akregator then I don't get the
browser. There are settings in akregator configuration that determine
what should happen after such a double-click but they are not enforced.
