Bug re-opened without explanation nearly 3 years after it was (twice)
marked "Invalid". Reverting that change as the issue was resolved.
SoundCloud works perfectly here using Chromium 71 in Ubuntu 18.04.

@CSRedRat: The Chromium issue you linked to seems to be about the sound
not playing correctly. This issue is about the sound not playing at all.
As it is, installing chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra (which is the default
on new installs now) fixes the problem.

I don' t think there's anything to do here. We can't discard the non-
extras package. Installing one of the two packages that chromium-
browser Recommends fixes the problem.

problem.

omarly666: I had this issue as well. Even after a restart the problem
persists. The solution was to go into the System Monitor and kill all
the chromium processes. Chromium is preloaded on OS start (presumably to
facilitate fast loading), so chromium was in an "always-open" state.

after some updates the problem is back, but resolved with note #11.
seems like some regression is happening, when updating??
can't wait to get the developers to make a note of this on the to of the
page - just like when missing other plug-ins :)

Version 25.0.1364.160 Ubuntu 13.04 (25.0.1364.160-0ubuntu3)
On debugging, I noticed this string "HTML5_AUDIO_SRC_NOT_SUPPORTED", on
checking the underlying audio link, it seems that chromium was not able
to play the audio because of the absence of codec. Installing chromium-
codecs-ffmpeg-extra so
UPDATE: Apparently Chromium does not close completely when you close the
browser window.
After a restart, Soundcloud with Chromium 25.0.1364.160, and Flash 11.7.700.203
works fine.

(25.0.1364.160-0ubuntu0.12.10.1).
Running Flash version 11.7.700.203 (was updated using pepflashplugin-installer).
Previously running the latest Flash player for Ubuntu/Firefox/etc (I think it
was 11.2.200).

Same issue since system update on Monday, Xubuntu i386 13.04, Chromium
25.0.1364.160. Can't test if Java is indeed somehow involved as I
unfortunately need it.

Same problem, everything loads, but no sound and no visual feedback
after pressing play. Not sure what the problem exactly is as grooveshark
and google music work fine. Kubuntu 13.04 64 bit.

After a quick test in Opera, it's not working anymore too. It stoped
working yesterday for both browsers. Everything is fine in Firefox 21.
I can give few more informations on my config / installed packages if

I'm marking Incomplete, which will be automatically closed in a few
months, so people have a chance to see it and a chance to reopen with
something reproducable.
