We have a stock cable connections at our appartment. We are behind a
cable router. Our ISP is UPC. There is defintly no DNSfiltering going
on.
That being said, I was on vacation for the last few days. When I came
back today Skype started working normally again. I suspect a hick-up

Quick question: are you using OpenDNS filtering? Or some other form of DNS
filtering?
Maybe your college is using DNS filtering?
