Thank you for reporting this bug and for your efforts to make Ubuntu
better. As Xorg has improved this past year, an unfortunate side effect
of these improvements is that it has rendered several design assumptions
in displayconfig-gtk obsolete. So, starting with Hardy we are no longer

Hi,
i ran into the same problem using Hardy Beta and the nvidia-glx-new
drivers (version 169.12+2.6.24.11-12.31). Apparently the path to
"libglx.so" has changed with this new driver. It is now located in
"/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions". This directory is not searched by
displayconfig while coll
When running a more current version of displayconfig-gtk I notice this
now works properly when linux-restricted-modules is installed.

for displayconfig-gtk issues, the info to always post includes
/etc/X11/xorg.conf, the /var/log/Xorg.0.log immediately after the
failure, the output of lspci, and run 'displayconfig-gtk -w
pcitable.txt' and attach pcita
I can also confirm this bug--I get every video driver on the system
except for the Nvidia driver. Driver enabled thru Restricted-driver-
manager. 6/01/2007

I have several test runs that resulted in a non-xserver start--is anyone
interested in them or what type of info would you be interested in?
