tool or were you using the Ubuntu provided version? What is the output of

Right as you said, When I installed ubuntu and wanted to configure Beryl, I
did instal NVIDIA dirver version 8174. Then I did some software update and
was forced to downgrade to 7184 as Xserver would not boot and the error
trace said that the drivers needed wer

Thank you for your response.
I was able to fix it. I installed Nvidia drivers and the Extyensions section
was missing frm the xorg.conf file. I added them and the Xserver works
properly now.
