This should be fixed in the upstream 3.14 kernel. Does this still occur
with Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet"?

For me the camera and audio work, but if my machine is left to sleep for
a 'while' (longer than a few minutes?) it seems to disappear - Cheese
and Google Hangouts can't find it (can't find audio or video). Logging
