once again with my recon3d in Ubuntu 13.04.

It may be coincidence, but both of you have onboard or HDMI audio
devices that force disabling of MSI (message signaled interrupts)
@Paulo: I would try disabling the hdmi audio:
sudo echo "blacklist snd-hda-codec-hdmi" > /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-hdmi.conf
sudo depmod -a
See if sound works after
Doesn't work for Z cards.

I see, I had fixed it in rc.local with the position_fix thing. It does
indeed work now, quite well.
