As a matter of fact, that v3.9-rc5-raring mainline kernel does *not* fix
it all up perfectly.
Now, whenever the fan increases its speed, it stays at the high speed;
if it goes up to top speed, it stays at top speed. However, when put to
sleep, after resuming, it starts at low speed again.
