startup disk creator / formating usb drive not working

Retested on 13.10 beta, problem stil exists.
On a side note... this app got even worse in 13.10, after formatting it
with partition magic I can't use it to write a iso to any stick I have.
This app has not been working for several ubuntu releases now. If its

I had a similar problem. After a while I would get some pop-up window
with an error in the org.freedesktop protocol or something like that.
Also, some background processes continue running and burning my CPU at
close to 100%, so I am forced to restart the computer.
My workaround at the moment is t
