My computer has been operational for 3 days now. I have had Beryl
running but have been using firefox much less. When I leave my computer
on overnight I make sure I close firefox and when I check my pc the next
day, my computer is still running. Usually its completely frozen. I'm
thinking the prob
Just confirm that there is no connection between beryl and this problem. Try
running without it and see.

Now it seems that the trouble lies in the power management kernel modules. Any
way please attach the outputs of the following commands:
lspci -vnn
lsmod
dmesg
Just confirm that there is no connection between beryl and this problem. Try
running without it and see.

I have used both Dapper(Kde) and Edgy (Kde) - I did experience the
problem in edgy but not very often and I didn't realise that it may have
been Firefox. I did not upgrade to Feisty, I formatted my drive and did
a fresh install. My desktop is now Gnome.
