Hi Cristopher, I haven't experienced this bug in a while. Running 13.10
now and haven't seen any sign of the error since upgrading.

Celian, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release

I had a similar weird flicker today but on Ubuntu 13 + GeForce GTS 450.
Looked like on the above videos.
Even when I restarted and entered the BIOS screen the flicker was still
there. Weird.

Experiencing the flickering now, and tried running the command:
echo 0x6 | sudo tee /sys/module/drm/parameters/debug
&
sudo echo 0x6 | sudo tee /sys/module/drm/parameters/debug
Just get: 0x6
sudo cat /sys/module/drm/parameters/debug
Results in: 6

Haven't experienced this for a couple of weeks now, but last 2 times I
did I was sitting in the same café downtown. Will visit there tomorrow
and see if I can replicate (my computer was the only one suffering as
far as I could see).
Will try your command line then.

It does look like the backlight is spontaneously changing. Can you
please attach the output from 'echo 0xa >
/sys/modules/drm/parameters/debug ; sleep 30; dmesg' ?
