To clarify, I was actually referring to the default applications listed
when right clicking on a music file in the file manager. Title of the
bug is, "Movie Player" default for audio files.

Thank you for taking on this bug. I don't think you are correct that the
default music play is rhythmbox. I have verified this on multiple fresh Ubuntu
Feisty installs. Launching a MP3, OGG, or WAV file brings up Totem by default.

Thank you for your bug. That's an upstream decision. The music player is
rhythmbox. If you disagree with that you should open a bug on
bugzilla.gnome.org we are not going to change it in a distribution
specific way
