either:
a) release a new upstream
b) put your changes into debian, and wait for a new upstream version
c) fakesync
in all cases, you can file a sync request from debian for the next
upstream, and only modify debian's version, to get it into both distros.

The difference in MD5 and size is because the Debian package is version 0.1-1,
while the Ubuntu one is 0.1-0ubuntu1. The Debian package has a major version
than the Ubuntu one (see the changelog).
