Unity can't start on laptop

After running '/usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p' I get a
"segmentation fault" message in the terminal .

also, grab the ~/.xsession-errors file after logging in unity, for
instance change to VT1 (ctrl-alt-F1) and copy the file somewhere, then
attach it here
