Please try running the following commands:
sudo modprobe -r acerhk
sudo modprobe acerhk force_series=2020 poll=0
Then try using your volume hotkeys.
If that works, you can make this change permanent by adding the following line
to the end of /etc/modules:
acerhk force_series=2020 poll=0
