Canon's driver is only partially released under the free licence, and
until that changes, the Ubuntu team can not solve the issues around it.
Until then, we have to rely on the tutorials like the one mentioned, and
keep sen

A have the same trouble
I have 2 operating sistems on PC
1. - Kubuntu 7.04 (Release from 19 april 2007) core vmlinuz-2.6.20-15-generic
2. - Kubuntu 6.10 core vmlinuz-2.6.17-11-generic
on Kubuntu 6.10 all works fine - no troubles (i installed drivers as they
