This is actually a longstanding issue I've been having for years. At the moment I have computers running 12.04 and 12.10, both showing the behavior. The 12.10 computer is running isc-dhcp-client v. 4.2.4-1ubuntu10.1 for what it's worth. But that made me realize I had a little server running Debian

Hi Chris, on which Ubuntu release or with which version of isc-dhcp-client did you experience this issue? There was a multiple domains related bug (http://bugs.debian.org/567141) which has been fixed in Ubuntu Oneiric and Debian Wheezy (i.e. Ubuntu Lucid and Debian Squeeze are still affected). I
