Got from upstream a hint to use the ppa
https://launchpad.net/~yubico/+archive/stable/ which seems to work
better:
"from some very cursory testing this looks to me like it's a problem in
the usb parts of libykpers, specifically the fix in Yubico/yubikey-
personalization@816cefe".
