Has anyone got this to work under XFCE?
I installed it from source using the steps for Gnome on the developers
webpage (which is the same steps as Jonathan Sambrook's steps above) but
I still cannot get it to appear as one of the applications from the
System Tray 'Add New Item' or from another pan
I've tried the steps posted above and they appeared to be successful
(after I also installed xmms-dev), but the playground plugin still
doesn't work.
Is there any hope of a fix being released for this?

The following got it working for me:
$ sudo apt-get -u install libgconf2-dev libglade2-dev libgtk2.0-dev
libpanelappletmm-2.6-dev
$
$ wget http://download.gna.org/playground/playground-0.3.tar.gz
$ tar zxf playground-0.3.tar.gz
$ cd playground-0.3/
$
$ ./configure --prefix=/usr
Anything going to happen here? Smae problem :(
