The workaround indeed resolves the issue. My recommendation would be to
place a new entry in the /etc/modprobe.d/ folder activating this option.

The workaround in question is to use the argument RxIntDelay=8 while modprobing
the module.
I'm currently verifying that this indeed resolves the issue.
