Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could
test with it so we can work
I have this issue sometimes. Tray icons appear floating in their own
window. I fix it closing all apps and executing 'dcopserver_shutdown'

I don't use evolution.
ps -ef | grep evolution | grep -v grep
returns nothing.
So don't think it is related.
When the problem occurs (after a logout to GDM and back in)
I need to kill amarok and then do /usr/bin/kdeinit. This seems to allow
amarok to start up again.

Yes for me it always happens (every time) after a re-login. I think I may have
also seen it once or twice on the first
login but I can't be sure.
