You can mark this as invalid or fixed as far as I'm concerned - it was
due to one of my plugins, indeed. Going back to a "vanilla" Firefox
removed the issue.

OK, thanks for the tip. I disabled the multiple tabs add-on and fixed the
permissions. I'll see if it helps.
BTW, where did you find the messages about the wrong permissions? I can't
find it in any of the files I attached. Is that something that I
automatically sent in one of the crash reports?
You've got a lot of addons installed, and at least this one looks
suspicious:

Also, I've noticed that I unfortunately can't reproduce the bug
willingly. During some sessions it works normally, while during others I
get all "new tabs".

Which Firefox extensions do you have installed? The first thing to try
is disable all extensions; you can do this with 'safe mode', as
described here:
