Closing this bug as Edgy is no longer supported. If you can reproduce
this issue using Hardy, you can reopen the bug report by clicking on the
current status, under the Status column, and changing the Status back to

I recently installed AMD-64 Edgy from DVD, after which appeared about
220 updates plus a link to upgrade to Feisty. The upgrade link failed
within a few seconds, ditto a few times more. Now have the Feisty DVD
package on the way, so really n/a so far as myself, but this must be
somehow related to

I've had the same problem, but it was not because of the connection
neighter was it because I was too impatient. I just had to remove some
extra repositories and it worked like a charm. So a better notification-
system in the GUI (anything is better tha none) would have probably been
helpful.

Yes it worked. Perhaps someone should implement better notifications in
the GUI that things are still running smoothly. It took waiting a long
time and then I had to disable some custom apt sources that were
interfering.
