Is this really a duplicate? I am indeed running gnome and lightdm
(stock ubuntu 12.10). I can lock my screen. I can unlock my screen.
gnome-screensaver is running.
But I cannot suspend. Until I installe

no problem, if ever in doubt just file a bug and someone will mark it
as a duplicate if thats the case... It can be very hard for end users to
know what is a duplicate or not!

Martin, can you confirm that if you lock the screen first with the
keyboard shortcut (ctl-alt-L), does suspend from the user menu work
after that?
