Thanks for the suggestions.
I upgraded my drivers to version 304.48 and the problem didn't go away.
As a side note, I had to do it from the console, the graphical tool was giving
me errors when trying to install the experimental package.
My impression is that some regression in mesa or a similar
One more thing: by visiting "software sources" above make sure you have
selected
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu#Updates_Tab make
sure you have "Recommended updates" selected.

>From a brief glance at the logs it seems you may have Nvidia version
295.49 and Nvidia has released a newer 304.43 driver which may fix your
issue. Go to the "additional drivers" menu and make sure you have the
latest version selected. Then, close the menu and open a Terminal and
do 'sudo apt-ge
