I suspect that if I installed Ubuntu 7.04 and had a 3dfx card to test
with the problem would still occur. If it wasn't a priority to even get
a dev to review it in the past 5.5 years, then it's not worth my time.

While messing around with BillardGL (billard-gl package) and trying to get
sound working (actually sound is not implemented) I saw an interesting tidbit

I also reproduced this behaviour with a Matrox G400 which uses the mga
driver. This would seem to indicate a common component is at fault like
X or Mesa.

I encountered similar problems on a Matrox G400 with the mga driver. I
think it may be Mesa problem. I reported the problem to the SuperTux
developers but haven't seen a response yet:
