This is now happening on my 64-bit Xubuntu 12.10 installation
consistently. After logging in, Thunar will not show the Network and
Trash icons in the left pane. Killing the process and restarting Thunar
will cause the icons to display properly.

fails...
when the icons are missing, pasting trash:// or network:// into the
address bar works fine. So the daemons are running.
confirmed on my clean install of 12.10 x64 on both desktop pc and laptop
