This is ridiculous, the problem is I don't have the option to remove this
stupid shield. I don't want it. I don't lock the screen on my home
workstation, I don't see a need for it. When I wake my machine up I want
the desktop, not a shield.

This is unrelated to gnome-control-center, the only option in there is
to completely disable screen locking.
Current methods for lifting screen shield as of 3.6 are Esc, Enter and
Mouse Scroll Wheel and I am not aware of any upstream plans to implement
anything further.

Is this possibly fixed in the latest version of gnome-control-center?
(We're a version behind, so if gnome-shell is looking for the Lock
setting in a different place, it's easy to see how this could happen).
