It seems that when Desktop effects are turned off, flash videos will
play normally. No freezing of Firefox. When turned on, Firefox seems to
freeze and not respond anymore.

My up to date Feisty installation works perfect with the flashplugin-
nonfree in the repositories. However, I DID experience the same problem
as Azalin before on Dapper and Edgy on this laptop, but with flash v9
that problem disappeared for me. And I never had these problems on my
other computers..
On Youtube, videos on google and some other sites where I was able to
view flash video Firefox froze. MOst of the time the application would
freeze after the video had finished (so that was nice of FF to allow me
to watch it :) ). I haven't used the Session recover function of firefox
as much as no
