I'm afraid I can not paste the output from dpkg because the system has
no file system anymore so it's is dying. The file system that it is
reporting to be read-ony is /var/
HEre requested content of fstab

Could you please paste here the display of the error message with all
the output from dpkg?
Could you also please paste the contents of fstab.
Can you still write to the filesystem of your root partition?
Are there any HD errors in dmesg? (Just execute dmesg and look at output
or paste it here)
