I'm also seeing this issue on ubuntu 12.10 3.5.0-17-generic , only
occurs on laptop lid close. Suspending using user-session menu does not
replicate. Upon restarting, all settings are lost on the touchpad
configuration settings, however the touchpad management settings are
intact.
