I tried this with Kubuntu Feisty Fawn Herd 5 and Beta with same result. I did not test the alternate CD. It seems to me a like the Bug #84964 where something is wrong with the SATA drivers. But status of this Bug is "fix released"? -- Kubuntu Feisty Fawn Install CD does not start https://bugs.
