May I use an older kernel, which does not require the"pae" feature, with the
12.10 daily live image? If yes, which kernel should I choose?
I would be happy to have this bug solved (and to help in so

it means you can't install 12.10 or newer.. the kernel doesn't support
your hw.

I tried to boot the 12.10 daily image but it does not boot because
"This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPU:
pae
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU"
I understand what it means, but I don't know exactly what I can do to
have it working. So, ple
could you try with a 12.10 daily live image to see if you can reproduce
the bug, and report back.

Sebastien, do you mean synaptics (the touchpad driver)? If so, would it
be useful trying to reproduce the bug having previously disabled the
touchpad (by disconnecting it physically, or unloading a module, or I
don't know whatelse...)
