Sorry, but I can not follow your instructions anymore. The problem
presists with partitioned HDD only (3 or more partitions). I overcame
that by removing of all the partitions and using entire HDD.
It affects not only licid live cd/usb, but also later editions as well.

I tried to boot from ubuntu 10.04 live usb created from ubuntu 10.04.
Result the same (see attached screenshot), so I suspect, the problem comes from
Ubuntu.
The problem began after I divided my HDD to partitions.

Anyway your bug description seems not to be related to Ubuntu, but only to
Linux Mint.
Other this thing you don't write the way you made the live usb.
For this motivations I'll mark as invalid the bug for Ubuntu
