There seems to be a workaround for this issue without recompiling the
application. Set the following two environment variables to the root
directory:
export DBIMP_PATH=/
export CBROWSER_PATH=/
This "changes" the incorrect path composed in the application to the
correct one.

Daniel, if I understand your reply correctly, you mean that
"/usr/lib/gps/dbimp" is not installed. But in fact it is (at least on my
PC).
I found the same bug in Debian which requires a fix in source code:
