I will try this in the next days if I find some free time (Hardly, 'cause
examinations are getting closer ;) )
Is it correct that gutsy now uses compiz fusion? Than it should work now
because it works with beryl under feisty!

Can you try to reproduce this with gutsy tribe-2? You should be able to
test from the Live CD. Compiz now has a much better placement algorithm
based on metacity.
