This seems to affect me as well. The symptoms: under heavy load (while
chrome is running, although I'm not sure it's related) the disk light
starts be on constantly (rather than flashing) and after 2-3 minutes
without disk access the computer freezes completely.

Hello,
I've got a Dell studio 1558 and I experience the same bug and the same log
("rsyslogd-2039").
Running Ubuntu 12.04 (3.2.0-27).
It seems to happen while the laptop is in heavy load but I'm even not sure
(kind of random). It seems to happen by bursts as well: for 30 minutes, it
would cra

Mailnine 3.4 and 3.5 kernels seems to not have this issue. They crash,
but do not freeze the system.

I'm getting the same issue, and it seems like it only appeared after
upgrading to kernel 3.2.0-26.41 (Ubuntu 3.2.0-26.41-generic 3.2.19).
Every now and then my system hangs completely for about half a second (I
mostly notice it because of my music stopping).
